BSPs provide balancing services for Transmission System Operators (TSOs). Thereby they play a crucial role in maintaining the stability and reliability of electrical power systems. They are responsible for ensuring that the supply of electricity matches the demand at all times, which is essential for preventing power outages and maintaining the quality of the power supply. The target value of the grid frequency in the synchronous area of continental Europe is 50 Hz. BSPs provide balancing services (or frequency services) for Transmission System Operators (TSOs) to keep the grid balanced at 50Hz.
